Vodka
This distillate, whose paternity seems to belong to Poland, owes its name ‘vodka’ to the word ‘voda’ (meaning ‘water’) because of its transparent colour.
Initially used as a medicine, as soon as distillation techniques allowed for a more refined product, it first began to be used to fortify wines and then to be consumed pure.
