ROSSO DI MONTALCINO DOC DOMUS VITAE
Rosso di Montalcino DOC
Rosso di Montalcino shares the reputation of the famous Brunello. It can be considered to all intents and purposes the “young version” of Brunello, as it combines vivacity and freshness with bringing great elegance to the table. The Montalcino area is naturally predisposed to the production of high quality wines, to such an extent that the local producers have procured two wines, from the same vineyards, with protected designation of origin. The Domus Vitae estate is located in Montalcino, in the southwest part of the denomination, near the village of Camigliano. The property of great extension includes lands cultivated with vineyards and large wooded areas. The latter determine a particularly favourable microclimate for the ripening of quality grapes. A nineteenth century ancient Tuscany farmhouse which in Italy is called ‘Cassero Senese’, once used as a structure to defend the territory, today houses the cellar for the vinification and maturation of the wines of the area.
