Bottega Prosecco Bar in Basel

BASILEA: NEW BOTTEGA PROSECCO BAR

2 December 2024

The opening of the new Bottega Prosecco Bar in Basel, at the international airport, is planned just before the Christmas period, characterised by an exceptional flow of passengers.

It should be noted that the EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg is the only bi-national airport in the world. Built by Switzerland on French territory, the airport is in fact divided in two, one part facing France and the other Switzerland.

Sandro Bottega, President of Bottega S.p.A., states: ‘The opening of the Prosecco Bar in Basel strengthens our format and further consolidates the fruitful cooperation with Lagardère Travel Retail France, which manages the location. Our strength lies in our ability to offer travellers high standards of service to enjoy some of the best-known Italian dishes paired with our wines. In addition, we want to strengthen our presence in the world of aperitifs and gourmet breaks by creating a sort of educational on Made in Italy food and wine culture’.

The Prosecco Bar format was born in 2014 with the first location on board the Viking group’s ship Cinderella. Since then, the concept has been replicated in many international airports in Europe and Asia. Moreover, the concept is ideal for integration into restaurants, lounge bars, racecourses and railway stations.

Inside each Bottega Prosecco Bar the customer finds the philosophy of the Venetian bacaro, that of an informal osteria, where ‘cicheti’ – appetisers to be eaten at the counter – and more structured dishes are served. The choice of wines to pair with the dishes is extensive. From sparkling and still wines to liqueurs, and a selection of aperitifs, cocktails and non-alcoholic options.

The Bottega Prosecco Bar in Basel is located in front of Gate 40.
